Discover all my articles on tips and tricks for video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro from Apple, best practices for film production, shooting, editing, special effects and equipment for filming and producing quality videos to boost your social media presence and online store sales. This blog is addressed to both amateurs and professionals, so feel free to leave your comments and I will be happy to reply.

Welcome to my Video Editing Blog! Yes, video has crossed my path. Although initially I started composing music for film and TV, the possibilities and advantages offered by computer video editing quickly became necessary.

The latest article to read!

What will we talk about in this Video Editing blog?

My articles and information will cover the following topics:

  • The video editing software I use for my projects and those of my customers. For those of you who know me, video is an essential part of communication. We’ll be talking about the many video formats, visual experimentation, workflow (production flow), complementary tools, music production for images and sound design. How to create a video in Final Cut Pro, Davinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro, on Mac OS X depending on the document to be produced. How to integrate different tools and hardware in your editing studio, and the controllers that revolve around computerized editing benches, not forgetting colorimetry, color grading, previewing, codecs and special effects, as well as updates and their new features… Not forgetting encoding such as MP4…
  • How to make an edit, learn how to import files, cut a video file cleanly before inserting it into the timeline, learn how to edit, refine the cut, fade and make beautiful transitions when necessary. Or basic cut editing without forgetting to develop the drag-and-drop technique and cropping. You’ll learn all about the editor’s work, from import to export – what we call rendering – and how to publish or return your footage to the client in professional quality. How about a case study in video creation?
  • How to scout locations for filming, how to use royalty-free or pay-per-use video clip banks to optimize the production of an edit. Because maybe you can’t afford a trip to Rio for a one-minute sequence on the beach… Or how to shoot a documentary and edit from home…
  • Work out a script to help you shoot and edit. Making a music video, synchronizing with sound and simply how to make a good slideshow! Which video editing software is best suited to a particular type of editing, or easiest to get to grips with. But I’m not going to talk about freeware or trial versions for Windows.
  • We’ll also look at broadcasting platforms, how to publish on YouTube and Vimeo and their formats. We’ll talk about cameras, drones used on shoots, video tools, live or concert recording, not forgetting livestream recording and editing. Teamwork in post-production…
  • I’ll show you how to use useful or useless accessories, how to work with lighting intuitively and how to manage light indoors and outdoors when you need to shoot, whether for a training video, a tutorial, an interview or a report.
  • Creating visual effects using filming tricks or tools such as After Effect. Use Photoshop for image retouching. Subtitle editing. Image overlay and when simplicity rhymes with video effects quality… Or when 3d animation and game creation software meet cinema…
  • As you’d expect, I’ve got a lot to say about audio processing of video files, how to optimize the recording of a report, both for sound and image. Search for music for your editing, whether it’s royalty-free or paid, including for the end credits! Not forgetting voice-over work, background noise and sound effects, or simply managing audio and video tracks…
  • As the owner of a GH5 Lumix, we’ll be talking about its settings and possibilities, stabilization, and video recording on SLR cameras and Smartphones. Of course, we’ll also talk about recording formats and how to export camera or Smartphone files to your computer for editing. Ever heard of GoPro? I’ll be talking about this little marvel that I’ve been using for quite some time now, both for filming and as a webcam…
  • I’ll talk about the legal aspects of image rights… And how to create videos and sell them, as well as how to archive them, even though I no longer have any requests to burn a video onto a DVD or Bluray…

The world of video is full of surprises and I hope, through the articles on my video editing blog, to introduce you to this world. And the icing on the cake is that I’m an anime fan, so maybe we’ll talk about the work involved in editing an animated film… who knows…

I hope you enjoy reading the articles on the video-editing blog, and that you make lots of SD card recordings and do lots of video editing…
